For as long as I can remember, I have always loved the arts, graphic design, and communications in general. As early as when I was pursuing my bachelor’s degree in industrial design at the Université de Montréal, I began working on various graphic arts projects as a freelancer. I then had the pleasure of acquiring "a brief overview" of the arts by completing a certificate in fine arts at Concordia University. To round out my education, I undertook a certificate in business management from the École des hautes études commerciales de Montréal. It is this unusual combination of the arts, design and business that has made me President of Tattoo Communication since 1994.

I often remark on how privileged we are to be able to work in the communications field, as it’s a very positive one. Whether we’re involved in the process of starting up a business, the complete reorganization of a company, or any kind of promotion, we’re always taking part in a joyous endeavour. We have the honour of sharing these milestones and events with our clients and of collaborating to see their projects through to completion. Furthermore, the diversity of our clientele is extremely enriching. We are constantly learning about various topics and fields, which in turn become abundant sources of inspiration.

Ever since I learned how to pick up a pencil, I have been drawing. I have always found satisfaction in expressing myself through illustration and, for me it is the ultimate channel of communication. I thus dedicated five years to the study of visual arts, an experience that led me to my wonderful career as a graphic artist.

I began my professional training at Cégep Ahuntsic, where I was awarded the Quebec Graphic Communications Sector Workforce Committee scholarship. This award, along with my curiosity and passion for the field of advertising fuelled my desire to pursue my studies at Université de Montréal, where I obtained a certificate in advertising.

I am a very outgoing, dynamic and enthusiastic person. Since 2006, I have been a graphic artist at Tattoo, a role which entails being in charge of several projects simultaneously. From design, to graphic creation to production, I am involved in every aspect of my projects. Another source of great joy and satisfaction in my work is the relationships with our clients. I make every effort to ensure they are entirely satisfied with our service and the final product.

Believe it or not, it was through my studies in natural sciences that I discovered the world of visual communication. When my skilfully drawn diagrams repeatedly came to serve as models during final exams, I began to consider an alternative career for myself. I thus changed the course of my education and completed a certificate in visual arts, followed by a bachelor’s degree in visual communication from Université Laval. The scientific side of me drives me to maximize technology in my quest to render illustrations that are impeccable, down to the smallest of details.

To avoid being boxed in by the conventional limitations of print, I draw inspiration from all that surrounds and affects me. I believe it is in this way that the novel and unexpected are created—indispensible ingredients in the realization of a successful project.

What I love about my work at Tattoo is the seeking out and discovery of diverse and exciting collaborators, and the cultivating of close professional relationships with our clients.

Having trained in graphic design at the reputable Collège de Sherbrooke and then earned a degree in advertising and film from Université de Montréal, I was pleasantly surprised to discover how much I enjoyed solving the challenges that projects involving the Internet were constantly presenting me... the user-friendly, interactive and dynamic aspects of the medium were simply becoming an obsession of mine.

After six years in creation, design, development, content hierarchization and research, my drive to surpass myself, embark on new quests and acquire new skills is as earnest as ever. The speed with which this sector evolves, takes all the credit, however… being constantly faced with new ways of doing things, new obstacles to overcome, new challenges to surmount, how could one possibly get bored?
